{house update}

Looks a little a big project, but, demo is just about done (few nails left to pull) and we are in the dryout phase (which as you can see the basement is having PMS--a little drain tile and sump pumps and that problem we are hoping will be fixed!) Ahh much love mitigation. Do you know what that word means? I had never heard it before, so bumped my vocabulary!

Once the dryout is complete we WILL get the windows and doors in to avoid further rain from getting in and then we will be mitigating with Kilz on the buffalo board and 2X4's, then comes electrical, insulation and plastic on the walls, drywall on the ceiling for attic insulation and we can start constructing the bathroom (I took showers...good hot stress releiver showers...for granted. Not having a decent shower but maybe 5X in the last month and a half really takes a toll on a girl!), then the kitchen, then our bedroom (I really miss the king comfy bed....).

We are still waiting to hear if we are able to get a FEMA trailer onto our property (which would be awesome). Hopefully in the next few weeks we will get an answer, until then, we have to wait (I've called once a week since I took the survey, and they send a note to the people every time I call, so please don't tell me we aren't trying hard enough, thanks!) Still waiting for the insulation to be picked up also. A special EPA company from Missouri had to come up I guess (rumor mill possibly) and we've had a nice BIG red garbage dumpster parked in front of the house (the mailbox, I should leave the mail lady a cookie since she now has to get out and walk through the muck to drop off our mail) for about a week now. But, there is now a bobcat parked by it as of last night, so maybe that means they will be starting soon. Sure hope they do because the city is already on it's 3rd pass for garbage and NONE of ours has been picked up yet. So, if we miss this pass (because they can't pick anything up until the insulation is gone) we might have to be hauling it ourselves out there! =( oye. Anyhow, here are the pictures thus far.
